RingSail (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the RingSail job search platform at ringsail.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google’s authentication service. We store your email and display name in our database to identify your account.
Resume data: If you upload a resume, the text content is stored securely in our database (encrypted at rest) and sent to Google Gemini API for keyword extraction and scoring. Resume text is not shared with employers or third parties beyond this processing purpose.
Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including jobs viewed, applications tracked, and search queries, to personalize your experience and improve our service.
Location data: If you enable commute filtering, we use your address to calculate commute distances via Google Maps APIs. We do not share your address with employers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI-powered job matching and scoring against your resume.
- To track applications, saved jobs, and career progress within the platform.
- To send job alert emails if you subscribe to saved searches.
- To improve search relevance and platform features through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
3. Third-Party Services
Google Firebase: Authentication and file storage are handled by Google Firebase. See Google Firebase Privacy.
Google Gemini API: Resume text is sent to Google Gemini for AI keyword extraction and job scoring. See Google Gemini API Terms.
Supabase: Job and user data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
4. Data Retention
Your account and resume data are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion by emailing privacy@ringsail.com. Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely.
5. Cookies
We use Google Firebase authentication cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use third-party analytics cookies.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights or ask any privacy question, contact us at privacy@ringsail.com.
7. Children
RingSail is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
